I’m in a confused state of euphoria
Dear Todd and Charissa,
This is Ahiena from Hilo, Hawaii. I got my 6’1″ El Pavote about a month ago and have been riding it since then and
I’m so blown away by the board that
I’m in a confused state of euphoria -
almost lost as to my whereabouts! I’ve been surfing for about 15 years now, and boogie boarding 4 years before that. I grew up in the ocean and lived around the ocean all my life and rode everything from a piece of plywood to a couple of custom-made quivers.
I have to say that before I got the El Pavote, I thought that in my life I’ve rode a handful magic boards.
But after riding the El Pavote, I realize that I’ve only had one magic board besides the El Pavote and it was a Channel Islands. The proxy s-glass floats me and my bigger frame like no other board has, especially at 6’1″!
And it puts me where I want to be on a wave
and whatever I imagine I want to do, it takes me there!
Thank you for the truly magic board – you’ve gained a lifetime customer. I’m already thinking about a big boy Greased Pig for our sloppy, mushy conditions out here in Hilo on the Big Island.
Mahalo nui Todd and the Proctor crew!

plenty of volume but still able to whip it around
I was in there this week to look into ordering a new board and left with a slightly used 6’6’ rascal.
Couldn’t be more stoked. The day I bought it I surfed 2-3’ weak waves with my son and had a great time –
plenty of volume but still able to whip it around.
Before that I would have been bored on a longboard.
I will still get a new high performance quad when I can justify the cost but this will no doubt be my 80% board,
i.e., 80% this will be under my feet.
Thanks again,
Jim

I've been surfing 20 years and this is my first short board
Charissa,
Just wanted to let you know how much fun
I’m having on my new Rascal!
I’ve been surfing 20 years and
this is my first short board.
I’ve taken a lot of beatings trying to get up on the thing, but have been up a few times now, and
it’s like discovering a whole new world.
I’m exploring waves like I never have before!
I’m not abandoning longboards (in fact, you’ll have to make my next one for me!), but this Proctor is my go-to board for now.

Hi Todd :
This is Antonio, from Taiwan ( El Pavote surfboard )
I have been thinking in adding one or two of your boards to my quiver.
I will be road traveling and surfing
during the holidays ( Guatemala,
el salvador and maybe Nicaragua ).
Anyways, what I am looking for,
is to have an all around quiver,
if possible with 2 boards but if you recommend me 3 ( including the pavote ) to cover all, I will agree with your opinion.
As I mentioned to you Taiwan wave are not the so powerful, but they can get during typhoons.
So I have been thinking to add a
more shortboard style for those
good days in Taiwan,
but with abilities to work in not only perfect conditions ( Monsta
vs Accelerator vs Greased Pig II ) and for the typhoon season and traveling a round pin tail with more rocker and good versatility ( blackbird vs sr-71).
But what do I know!
Please let me know you recommendation,
last time was the perfect choice.
Really looking forward to get the sickest quiver in Taiwan !!!

the board is perfect!
Rode it at C-street
the day I picked it up
and it flew down the line.
Thanks Todd for making me the one board I needed in my quiver.
I am already thinking about ordering another one from you guys this summer that my girlfriends sister can take back to Norway for me.
Thanks again for the perfect board.
Mr Tom is really happy. Aloha.

The Pavote is the shortboard that I’ve been trying to find for ages
Hi Todd,
Two days ago when I saw you, I had vector foils on the outside and the small trailer in the back. I was noticing a little bit of lag time getting up to speed and turning was little forced. The first couple days I tried it with the same twin fin (rasta keel) set up that I use on the Rascal 2, but it felt a bit twitchy.
So yesterday I went back to the basics and put in fiberglass AM1 futures.
Wow, now were talkin’!
All the speed of the Rascal 2 is there
but with even more manuveability.
I was able to get into more critical positions and really whip the board around rather than the more gliding turns of the Rascal 2, which is what I wanted.
The El Pavote is the “shortboard”
that I’ve been trying to find for ages.
Thank you so much!
But don’t worry, the Rascal 2 is not getting kicked to the curb. My board choice always depends on the conditions, and you and I both know the conditions around here are often tailor made for the Rascal 2.
Take Care,

With my new Pavote I’m able to make it through the flat section and pull into the inside with enough speed to get out in front of the wave
Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for being so prompt and helpful.
My new Pavote is amazing. I’ve had a few chances to ride it and it’s perfect.
I rode it at a beach break in nw washington 2 weeks ago.
The waves were 6′ to 8′ and hollow.
Everyone was having a hard time getting in to the wave
because the wind was blowing pretty hard offshore.
I managed to catch a few waves that I wouldn’t have
on my normal short board.
Once I was up and riding I was stoked on how fast I could go.
Last week I surfed a wave called the “wedge”, although its not quite the same as the one california, its still pretty heavy. The drop is super steep, but then the shoulder usually flattens out until it hits the inside where gets steep again.
With my new El Pavote I’m able to make it through the flat section
and pull into the inside with enough speed to get out
in front of the wave. Not only is it fast but its maneuverable too.
So far i’ve only ridden it as a thruster. I tried it with a set on am-2 fins and a set of js-1. The am-2 seem to be a little looser but the js-1 seem to hold a line a little better on a steeper wave. All in all I’m very happy with my Pavote. I’m looking forward to trying it as a quad and a twin finner. I live about 100 miles from the ocean, so every trip counts. A lot of the waves here you have to hike into and you can’t see from the road. It’s nice to have a board that’s versatile, because no matter how dialed in you think you have some places, they can always suprise you.
So far the Pavote has been fun from mushy 2 footers to
head and a half barrels. Thanks again.

The channels, the carbon rails, everything is perfect. I’m 110 % satisfied with my El Pavote.
Hi Todd & Charissa:
The boards arrived today, in perfect condition.
They arrived in the afternoon, so I didn’t have the opportunity to try them yet. I’m not in a hurry,
as I will be surfing my El Pavote all january and
half of february for my chinese new year holiday’s.
I will be surfing across Taiwan looking for waves,
and the Pavote is exactly what I need.
As soon I finish the trip I will write you back.
By the way, the boards look amazing!!!
way better than my expectations
.
The channels, the carbon rails, everything is perfect.
I’m 110 % satisfied with my Pavote.
Before I say good bye, I want to thank you Todd for the time in making the boards and Charissa for all your attentions.
Looking forward to contact you for my next magic board !!! ( hope to save the money for the summer )

can not stress enough on how much I've improved with this board!
I have to say that my Rascal II is the most fun board in my life!
It has opened up my path to better surfing!!!
I can not stress enough on how much I’ve improved with this board!
The Rascal II has pushed me to improve
in so many ways it’s too hard to explain.
I left for college a week ago and sadly i had to leave my board at home, but I was able to use it during the last good swell and it definitely has countless waves caught with it and the most incredible rides in my life. The board gets into waves with such ease it’s AMAZING!
I’d have to say that the 2 best attributes
to the Rascal II is the control you have
with the board and the ease of riding it.
The board is so smooth and so easy it feels like surfing is so natural. the proxy is amazing also! I’ve had the board for about 3 months now and still no dings or scratches! And i know for sure I’ve hit a couple things. But overall I have to say THANKYOU Todd and Charissa! the process for the board was so easy and everything promised was fulfilled!
