having the chat with Todd really helped me dial in the perfect setup

I just wanted to send a quick mail to thank you for the amazing board!
It is exactly what i had mind …

having the chat with Todd really helped me dial in the perfect setup.

Thanks for the time and effort you put into your craft and service..i wish you were a little closer to me in Cardiff, WALES, UK!!!

The time taken and shipping could not have been more spot on if you tried..

From a very stoked Brit surfer….CHEERS!

the board accelerated like nothing I have experienced

Hi Charisa,

That epoxy Rascal you made me last year is over a year old and holding up great.

It gets surfed 2-4 times

a week, and there is not

a single ding in it.

The deck is a bit dented from all the use, but there are no dings in it at all.  I don’t keep it in a bag, it just gets tossed into the car or on my bike rack.  I really don’t take that good care of it at all. But it is one tough board.

I don’t think I have ever had a board

hold up as well.

There is something that I want to mention to anyone who is thinking of having a board made.  I now have 2 Proctor boards and based on my experience, will probably never work with any other shaper ever again.  The reason is that Todd and Charissa run Proctor in a way that suits me perfectly.

When I want a board, Todd really listens to me.  I am 52.  I am not a 17 year old gymnist.

But that doesn’t me I should not have a board that would bring out the best in my surfing and take it to a new level.  When I ordered my second board, they knew who I was, they had all the records of my previous board, and were able to

listen to what I wanted, take into account the improvements in my surfing ,

and craft the ideal board for me.

It is a combination of caring & modern technology that allows this to happen.

Someone at a surf shop, even my local guys who I see every week, are not able to do that for me.  Although they see no harm in it, they would happily have me buy a tiny potato chip and send me off on my merry way, just as they would some 17 year old.  Todd listens, he takes into account who I am, where I surf, and what I want out of the board.  He has the experience to know how to make that happen for me.  So although I feel I bit guilty not buying from my local guys, and that I have to wait a few weeks for my board to be made, it is really the only way I will ever buy a surfboard.  What can I say, it feels nice to be cared about.

All my best,
David

I just came back from my first session with the new Rascal.  Wow.  So much fun. I had it in 3-4ft beach break here in the bay, and it was fantastic.  I want to thank Todd for taking the time to listen to me, to really understand what would be the best board for me, and to craft a gorgeous super fun board.  I was a bit timid at first, not sure if with the shorter length I would be able to catch waves like the earlier Rascal, but no worries at all.

First wave I went for was a right,

dropped right into the power part of the wave,

and stood on the rail.

Worked great, but the wave collapsed around me. However, on the second wave, a left, backside for me,

I weighted the rail and extended up,

the board accelerated like nothing I have experienced. I almost shot over the lip!

I pulled it around for 3 or 4 more turns. You have to understand, this is Santa Monica beach break. This is not some epic long wave. To be able to turn and power like that is something I have only seen, never actually done.

Some of the regular guys were out and they asked what the heck was I surfing on. If you start getting calls from people in Santa Monica and Venice, you will know why.

Great job Mr Proctor, awesome board,

David

As the norm, you made two great boards for me.

Charissa and Todd, I got to try both of the new boards and I’m stoked on both!

The Bullet as a quad is a get-in-early speed machine.

The farther back you get on the tail,

the faster it wants to go.

Good crowd control board in case nobody wants to share that day. Caught several nice, large set waves this morning. Then removed myself from the water in case I started not share.

The Ghost will be a great board for me. It was a little soft at 5-6 ft. and it was slow to get in. Then one with some power came and it was instant, smooth take off.

It’s what I wanted, not a duplicate of my Monsta, but a board for more punchy or critical waves.

As the norm, you made two great boards for me.

Thank You!….Best Regards,John

it held and went down the line sooo fast and worked unbelievably!!

Ohhhhhhh Maaaaaaan!! Can’t wait to get my new magic carpet.

I surfed double overhead steep lefts typhoon swell yesterday on Da Monsta

and it held and went down the line sooo fast and worked unbelievably!!

can only imagine what the Ghost can do in same conditions! Sweeeeeet!!!

Lots of guys around here are going to order boards after watching us surf the latest typhoon swell on your boards.

The board generated that turn and air, not me.

Todd and Charissa,

I just wanted to thank you guys again for my 5’10 Monsta stringerless board. The timing of its arrival was perfect as tropical storm Arlene is sending some nice swell to the Texas. The quick session before work was great, and the board exceeded my expectations. I have to admit I was really amped to try out the stringerless concept, though I hardly expected to be able to feel any difference… after all it’s not like my board is plastered with stickers,

I’m just the average guy surfing next to you in the lineup.

I was doubtful that I surf well enough to notice any flex in the board.

On my second wave on the board I dropped in, pumped through a section, and found the wave doubling up and closing out. I decided to hit the lip and rebound off the closeout. My speed was pretty slow as I set up the bottom turn and then what was supposed to be a small hack on a lip became a sizable alley oop. That board generated a crazy amount of torque and speed coming off that bottom turn and it was totally unexpected. So I’m a believer in the flex you were touting.

The board generated that turn and air, not me.

Thanks for shaping some unexpected results and here’s to a lot more of them! Cheers, Brad Smith Proxy Epoxy Monsta v-1.3  5’10″ x 19 1/2″ x 2 3/8″ (2 5/16″) swallow tail stringerless Carbon Rail suspension system

The construction is flawless & I couldn’t be happier

Hi Charissa,
The boards that you guys made were better then expected.

The construction of them both are flawless and I couldn’t be happier with them.

I haven’t ridden the g4-c board yet but

I have ridden the greased pig 2 and that thing is sick.

Just wanted to thank todd with his help on that one and look forward to ordering more.

The wait was well worth it – so stoked.

Thanks to everyone involved hope all is well take care.

Greetings Proctor Family,

Just wanted to say all is well here in Afghanistan and I really, really, really miss my Apache!

I’ll be taking leave in December for Christmas with the family

(and for good conditions on the North Shore)

and I’ll be linking back up with Brandon McConnell who now lives on the point between Lani’s and Chun’s. Can’t wait.

Hope all is well with the biz and that your still helping folks along with their journey in life and surfing.

I couldn’t have done this without your amazing boards

Hey Charissa and Todd,

This past weekend was the Christian Surfing Federations /Surfride Season Championship contest and after a long day of heats and battling it out,

I was left standing as the season champ, marking my 3rd Season title. I am soooo stoked.

The contest was held in fun, waist to chest high, clean surf at the San Clemente pier with a pretty large audience of competitors and spectators on hand.

I was rocking the G4C nearly exclusively, but had the El Pavote and G4E on hand in case it was needed.

People knew where my board support and allegiance was big time and I just wanted to thank you so much for everything.  I couldn’t have done this without your amazing boards and I hope I’ve made you proud!

I’ll send pics as I get them. I  am also going to get a duplicate of the trophy made to send you guys, too. I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful support!  I am soooooo stoked to be representing Proctor Surfboards!

I won the custom Proctor surfboard, but don’t feel comfortable taking it for free from you guys.

Take care and God Bless,
