Todd, here is my feedback on the 6’4” LeVee Flexible Epoxy

Todd, here is my feedback on the 6’4” LeVee Flexible Epoxy. By the way, got the extra fin screws from you today. Thank you for excellent customer service.

Todd, took delivery of the 6’4” LeVee and let it cure just as you instructed. Here is my comments.

I found the LeVee to be generally very fast and highly maneuverable. The most satisfying thing I can say about the board is that it is very responsive in the tube or any portion of the wave when it became a steep vertical face. That alone made me very happy, as my ability to stay in the tube is somewhat mediocre at best. Also, getting bounced off the bottom on a bad shoulder makes one generally skittish about getting hammered by the lip. The board paddles acceptably well for such a small board. It catches waves well.

This flexible epoxy construction really seems to work.

I can actually feel the board loading under (flexing) on the bottom turn, and then when it releases the flex, feeling the “spring” spit me out of the turn.

That part is really unique to my experience. Kinda like skiing or snowboarding.

It seems durable under my rough handling. It definitely springs back with energy, which is something I have never dealt with before (will take some getting used to, but that is a good thing!).

This board shape and the construction rates a 10 – 10, 10 being best. Thanks for a great product. I look forward to using the flexible epoxy 7’2” West Peak/Big Chief on my overseas trip this year.

I can only imagine what a really good surfer must be able to do with this shape and this construction. This is a quality product.

By the way, I surfed Newport River Jetties yesterday on peaky knee-waist on the 6.4 Proctor LeeVee and my good friend from Hurley was astonished at the speed I was getting on these little waves. I am attaching a couple to give you an idea of what fun I had on your boards.
I am a happy customer, Bert Rivera

your board (Ante up 6.6) was magic

Hi Todd,

I came back from Indo few weeks ago.

The waves were super nice and and your board (Ante up 6.6) was magic.

I really had a lot of fun with it. Thank you for this great board.
I will need a new board to replace my 6’2, it s the board I use everyday here when the surf is small(1-4ft).
Which board do you recommend for the small surf ? I was thinking about the pig or the module ?
Thanks.

the verdict is a true spoiler, fast and loose and catches wave easily

Todd,
well we finally got waves here on Maui was a terrible summer and start of fall. when i first recieved the new board it was a step up from your other epoxies that you made for me in overall look..But i did not want to ride it until we got some quality waves.

the verdict is a true spoiler, fast and loose and catches wave easily and no learning curve fits like a glove.

everyone that has seen it has been impressed showed it to Tom Parrish [legendary perfectionist]and he had that look that said plenty without comment.the proboxes are kind of interesting what would have been your set for fins in degrees? tried the 0,4 and 6 degree inserts so far and the board did not work magically till i put in the 6 degree inserts , maybe too many possibilties as we talked about..my magic to complement your board design are 6 degree black inserts with fsc fiberglass slater 8 time world champ fins fast and loose.is this board the constuction in your video where i see a board being banged against a pole?or was that something newer.took out the 7’8 ante up on a bigger day and it also rode very well ,refoiled some futures to clone the slater fins and made the board work even better.anyway mahalo for the spoilers…

AFTER BEING OUT OF THE WATER FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS THAT BOARD MADE ME CATCH UP WITH MY SURFING

HEY,

HOPE YOU GUYS ARE DOING GREAT. JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW HOW GOOD YOUR BOARDS WORKED FOR ME .

GOT BACK FROM COSTA RICA TWO WEEKS AGO, TOOK THE 6’4″ AND THE 7’0″ WITH ME. RODE THE 6’4″ ALL OVER THE PLACE FROM WAIST TO HEAD HIGH AND I WAS SO CONFIDENT ON IT. AFTER BEING OUT OF THE WATER FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS THAT BOARD MADE ME CATCH UP WITH MY SURFING. BEST BOARD I EVER OWNED. RODE THE 7’0″ IN HEAD HIGH WAVES IN PLAYA HERMOSA. IT WAS SO EASY TO PADDLE ON BIGGER WAVES AND AFTER DROPING IN IT’S JUST SO FAST.

WHEN I GOT BACK TO FLORIDA I HEARD WE HAD A STORM BRINGING SOME SWELL . BEING MY FIRST SWELL IN FLORIDA I STARTED ASKING ALL THE LOCAL KIDS HOW BIG IT WAS GOING TO GET AND THEY WERE ALL SAYING DOUBLE OVER HEAD WHICH WAS !@#$%^&*. SO I DECIDED TO BUY A BOARD ON ONE OF THE LOCAL SHOPS. BOUGHT A 6’6″ SHARP EYE BIG GUY BOARD, WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING? I DON’T KNOW IF IT WAS THE BOARD OR ME( HOPEFULLY IS WAS THE BOARD, HAHAHA) BUT DEFINITELY I DID NOT HAVE FUN IN THE WATER. THE BOARD HAD NO STABILITY AT ALL WHEN I WAS BEGINING TO STAND UP.DEFINITELY GETTING RID OF IT.

DECIDED TO GO BACK WITH MY 6’4″ PROCTOR AND I SURFED SO GOOD I EVEN GOT BARRELED IN MAYPORT POLES, WHICH I THINK IS THE BEST WAVE I RIDDEN IN FLORIDA.

WELL, I’M GOING OUT TO SEA FOR SEVEN MONTHS IN TWO WEEKS SO I’M PLANNING ON LOOSING A LOT OF WEIGHT SO I CAN ORDER A BRAND NEW THREE BOARD QUIVER FROM YOU GUYS AND TAKE THEM BACK HOME TO PUERTO RICO WHEN I’M DONE IN THE NAVY. THANKS FOR SHAPING ME THESE TWO AWESOME BOARDS. I’LL BE CALLING YOU GUYS FROM SOMEWHERE OVERSEAS TO PLACE MY ORDER AND HAVE MY NEW BOARDS BY THE TIME I GET BACK TO THE STATES.

TAKE CARE AND WISH YOU GUYS THE BEST.
