it will be a sad day when Todd say's it's not worth fixing anymore
I just love this board!
Over the last four years, it has been on every kind of wave
between Rincon and “C” Street and even finds the time
to teach my kids at Mondos….
it will be a sad day when Todd say’s it’s not worth fixing anymore.

Lightweight, high performance, solid, predictable
Charissa and Todd,
I’ve had enough opportunities to ride the new 9’6 HPLB where I feel I can write a decent review.
First off, the craftsmanship of the board is really top notch.
EPS boards often come out with smudgy paint and dodgy glassing and this board is a far cry from that — the glassing is solid and the airspray looks super clean.
In the water, the weight and flex dynamics
of the board are very predictable and fluid.
It’s not a super stiff Surftech type feel, it’s not a damper poly-type feel, it’s somewhere in between.
Lightweight, high performance, solid, predictable.
The board turns very well from the back 2/3 of the board. This is enhanced by the generous rocker and probably the bottom contours as well. I think the board is stable enough on the nose to enjoy some nice tip time as well. I haven’t had it out yet on a decent beach-break noseride day where I could really spend a ton of time on the tip, but I can tell there are some solid dynamics in the bottom contours that will enable some fun in the future!
Overall, this is a great ‘everyday’ high perf board
and I expect to get a lot of use out of it.
I may bring it to Hawaii in the next few weeks to try it out in some decent juice.
FYI I thought the 7″ Cutaway fin and SB1′s were really over-finned for the board in the conditions I am surfing it in. I swapped out the SB1′s for SB3′s (375′s vs 325′s) and I intend to put in a 6.5″ Cutaway as soon as I can get my hands on one. A lot of this has to do with the mediocre conditions that are available to me, where I want as much looseness as possible. The board is not overly volumed — if anything, it’s pretty thinned out in the rails, so it enjoys the looseness a lot. I want to try it as a single soon — too many fins, too little time!
Thanks again, will be in touch soon.
Best,

This board feels so much more loose than my 9'4" and holds confidently on late drops
Todd and Charissa,
Thank you for sending the pic of me with my new stick. This board is very sweet. I have now had the chance to get used to it and I am very pleased.
At first I wasn’t quite use to it because
it is so lively when I push it as compared with my other non-Proctor 9’4″.
That board is good in its own right but doesn’t have the beveled rails this one does. This board feels so much more loose than my 9’4″ and
holds confidently on late drops
(the kind where you’re watching the nose just
about a milli-second from pearling).
Thanks for the great artwork, special message I asked you to put under the glass and your great customer service skills. I wish you the best with your biz but with the way you make your customers feel special, you’ll gain their loyalty.
Keep tearin’ it up!

Charissa,
Thought you would like to know that I absolutely love my Proctor board, and just wanted to take a second out of my day to thank you and Todd for it. It’s such a faithful board, and I have been having so much fun on it lately.
It’s made perfectly to suit my needs and I just want you to know how much I appreciate it.
If you have a second, check out my blog and you can see how I have been riding–I posted a video!!!!

On a scale of 1 to 10 on the fun factor, my surfing has just taken about a 20 point move up. Awesome.
Hi Todd and Charissa,
I surfed the new board last weekend for three days.
I’ve been surfing for 21 years. Never before has riding waves been so effortless.
The board almost just by thought takes me anywhere I want to go. My friend who is learning to surf paddled a 9’6″ board I’ve surfed for 10 years, and he was lucky to catch two waves in two hours.
He tried Proctor and he caught 4 waves in less than 20 minutes.
Everyone who saw the board at Mondo’s in Ventura commented on its beauty.
The board is so light. On a scale of 1 to 10 on the fun factor, my surfing has just taken about a 20 point move up. Awesome.
Thank you Todd and Charissa so much, for listening to what I was looking for in a board, and taking it to the next level.
Peace,
Denno

Hey Todd,
On Thursday I had to take the board to my old backyard, Surfrider beach. I lived there just south of the pier for a year before my daughter was born, and used to surf 3 days a week.
It was a small day.
Unbelievable. I caught every wave I paddled for…. 100%. I was able to ride anywhere….
The break there is a pretty strong right as you know…and it helps to really be going.
This board is part of me. I think I know what the word stoked means now. Thanks.

I am still 100% completely satisfied
To Todd & Charissa Proctor,
I would like to again express my thanks for making me a quality board! I have had my Rocket 88 now for a little over three months and I am still 100% completely satisfied. I continually get comments on how cool the board looks. This is the second board I have owned and the fifth board I have ridden. My previous board was a 9’4 Robert August and just prior to buying your board I rode a 10’0″ Clyde Beatty Jr., 10’6″ Bruce Jones, and a 12’0″ Mickey Munoz. I still consider myself a beginner since I have only been surfing six months after a twelve year break. But, it was until recently that
I noticed how much better my Rocket 88 was over all the other boards I have ridden.
I took a co-worker out with me to teach him how to surf a few weeks ago. I gave my co-worker my Rocket 88 to try and I rented a 11’0″ Mickey Munoz. By the end of our session my co-worker was standing up and surfing without any assistance. After helping my friend I started catching some waves myself and it was at that time that I realized the difference in the performance of the two boards. It literally felt like I was driving a station wagon instead of a Porsche. My Rocket 88 turns on a dime despite it being 10’2″. The 11’0″ board I was using despite it being only 8″ longer felt like a tank and seemed to have a lot of drag. That afternoon made it clear to me that the Rocket 88 was a “Magic Board”. My surfing has dramatically progressed and I have yet to find a limitation with my Rocket 88. Thank you!

during 30 years I walk away from longboards considering them not performance oriented, I was so wrong
Todd, just to let you know that during 30 years I walk away from longboards considering them not performance oriented, I was so wrong.
Your Performance Longboard is an oversize shortboard with all the characteristics of its smaller relatives.
I am stoked to be able to late take off, cutback and bash the board against the foam, floaters are not too far away.
Muchas gracias amigo…..
