feels very lively under the feet with whips up around the lip fast and smooth

Hi Charissa,
Board arrived in A1 condition, brilliant packing!
Looks fantastic, can’t wait to give it a blast and will feedback to you after a few waves this weekend! Have a great weekend.

—————————————————–

Hey Charissa,
Here’s a bit of feedback for Todd.
Had 3 surfs on my new ‘Pavote’ this week in some fairly good 4ft clean surf, only with an air temp of -2 and water mid 40′s, freezing!

Really getting into the feel of it today,

picks up waves easy, paddles great and feels very lively under the feet with whips up around the lip fast and smooth…this board is my new ‘go to’ already!

Proud to be riding a ‘Proctor’ and wearing a big grin!

I’ll shoot some photo’s over in near future.

Cheers and many thanks again for great service and great boards!

I can literally go full throttle where as before if I pushed my board that hard I’d lose it

Hi Todd and Charissa,

Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you with feedback on the Monsta step-up. We basically only surfed the wall down on the baja and though it was head and a half to double it is such a mushy wave it was hard to get a good feel for the board.

Last week I finally got to really give it a go on this wedge that rarely goes off but

I managed to catch it on the best day I’ve ever seen there.

Luckily I had a pretty good idea that it was going to be mackin so I brought the step-up and my god what an amazing session.

The drop is super gnarly and

the board handled it like a dream.

It literally felt like I was on a 6″7 or 6″8 for paddle ability but then when a turn section would materialize it would just blast off the lip and felt more like the 6″3 it is but with so much control.

I can literally go full throttle where as before if I pushed my board that hard I’d lose it.

The session blew my mind and

I just sat on the beach after full of froth.

Thanks once again for making me an unreal board. I’m so happy with it. I tell all my friends about you guys and I’d expect a few more orders coming from up here on Van isle. Have a good weekend talk to you later!

it continues to shock me at what it is capable of

Hi Todd and Charissa,

Just wanted to say that I am absolutely stoked out of my mind on my new Blackbird.

I think my dominant feeling towards the board is shock,

because it continues to shock me at what it is capable of.

I got it into my head that because this board was smaller then my old G4, it would have been much more of a workout to paddle and get into waves. This wasn’t even remotely the case, for as soon as I hit the water, I immediately noticed how easy it was to paddle. I’ve ridden some of my buddies’ similar short boards, and I found paddling them was the defining factor, not the case with the Blackbird. But all of that aside, this board is absolutely mental once I am up and riding.

Its like the board is reading my mind,

going exactly where I want it to

the second I think it.

It turns on a dime, and loves to be on its rails; its like the board is just begging me to push it more and more every time I take off. The way it releases off the top is insane, it caught me off guard at first and I had a couple nice flops getting use to it. But now, once again, its like the board reads my mind: if I want to release the tail, it does, and when I am done it becomes tame again and settles down the wave. Absolutely ridiculous. It has only been 3 days and I feel like I’ve taken my surfing relatively further then in the past year.

Loving your guys’ work,

I can’t get enough of this board. If I am not out riding on it, all I can think about is when I can get back out there on it. I am addicted. I am already dreaming about my next board, but all things in due time.

Thanks,

Your service and quality is the best in the industry.

Hi Todd,

Not surprised at your success.

Your service and quality is the best in the industry.

Once you ride Proctor you can’t ride anything else.

Can’t decide what to get next the super Typhoon or the Rascal?

But the Monsta work so well in all conditions I want to get another one just for back up.

Took the Monsta out in some double overhead waves and it held good, better than the ghost and looser.  No speed wabbles.

tempted to take it to Bali next time, but not until I get a back up in case it breaks.

Never thought it was possible for a board to work so well all conditions, Da Monsta is pretty much a one board quiver and it’s only a 5’6″ with shortboard dimensions.

Amazing! Can’t imagine what you can come up with next.

the board accelerated like nothing I have experienced

Hi Charisa,

That epoxy Rascal you made me last year is over a year old and holding up great.

It gets surfed 2-4 times

a week, and there is not

a single ding in it.

The deck is a bit dented from all the use, but there are no dings in it at all.  I don’t keep it in a bag, it just gets tossed into the car or on my bike rack.  I really don’t take that good care of it at all. But it is one tough board.

I don’t think I have ever had a board

hold up as well.

There is something that I want to mention to anyone who is thinking of having a board made.  I now have 2 Proctor boards and based on my experience, will probably never work with any other shaper ever again.  The reason is that Todd and Charissa run Proctor in a way that suits me perfectly.

When I want a board, Todd really listens to me.  I am 52.  I am not a 17 year old gymnist.

But that doesn’t me I should not have a board that would bring out the best in my surfing and take it to a new level.  When I ordered my second board, they knew who I was, they had all the records of my previous board, and were able to

listen to what I wanted, take into account the improvements in my surfing ,

and craft the ideal board for me.

It is a combination of caring & modern technology that allows this to happen.

Someone at a surf shop, even my local guys who I see every week, are not able to do that for me.  Although they see no harm in it, they would happily have me buy a tiny potato chip and send me off on my merry way, just as they would some 17 year old.  Todd listens, he takes into account who I am, where I surf, and what I want out of the board.  He has the experience to know how to make that happen for me.  So although I feel I bit guilty not buying from my local guys, and that I have to wait a few weeks for my board to be made, it is really the only way I will ever buy a surfboard.  What can I say, it feels nice to be cared about.

All my best,
David

I just came back from my first session with the new Rascal.  Wow.  So much fun. I had it in 3-4ft beach break here in the bay, and it was fantastic.  I want to thank Todd for taking the time to listen to me, to really understand what would be the best board for me, and to craft a gorgeous super fun board.  I was a bit timid at first, not sure if with the shorter length I would be able to catch waves like the earlier Rascal, but no worries at all.

First wave I went for was a right,

dropped right into the power part of the wave,

and stood on the rail.

Worked great, but the wave collapsed around me. However, on the second wave, a left, backside for me,

I weighted the rail and extended up,

the board accelerated like nothing I have experienced. I almost shot over the lip!

I pulled it around for 3 or 4 more turns. You have to understand, this is Santa Monica beach break. This is not some epic long wave. To be able to turn and power like that is something I have only seen, never actually done.

Some of the regular guys were out and they asked what the heck was I surfing on. If you start getting calls from people in Santa Monica and Venice, you will know why.

Great job Mr Proctor, awesome board,

David
