The channels, the carbon rails, everything is perfect. I’m 110 % satisfied with my El Pavote.

Hi Todd & Charissa:

The boards arrived today, in perfect condition.

They arrived in the afternoon, so I didn’t have the opportunity to try them yet.  I’m not in a hurry,

as I will be surfing my El Pavote all january and

half of february for my chinese new year holiday’s.

I will be surfing across Taiwan looking for waves,

and the Pavote is exactly what I need.

As soon I finish the trip I will write you back.

By the way, the boards look amazing!!!

way better than my expectations :) .

The channels, the carbon rails, everything is perfect.

I’m 110 % satisfied with my Pavote.

Before I say good bye, I want to thank you Todd for the time in making the boards and Charissa for all your attentions.
Looking forward to contact you for my next magic board !!! ( hope to save the money for the summer )

It works in everything….points, beach breaks, and reefs

The Pavote is amazing!

It works in everything….points, beach breaks, and reefs.

I’ve never had a board be so good in the barrel.

These Pavotes work like slingshots, you can make any section!

I like to ride the Pavote as a thruster cuz it’s fast and loose already . You just need the fin setup to hold and control the speed you get on these boards.

Much love, to the board I love, Da Pavote!

my Big Chief in Santa Catalina, one of Panama´s most renowned breaks

Dear Charissa,

I am attaching a couple of pictures of me surfing my Big Chief in Santa Catalina, one of Panama´s most renowned breaks.

The wave offers plenty of punch, and it suits the board really well. This is just the second time I ride this board, we haven´t had much luck with swells this year, and I still have to get it a bit more wired, but I can already tell you that the ride with this board felt like the right balance between maneuverability and control.

I was able to place it all over the face of the wave,

even got a little barrel (second photo I was just coming out)with a lot of ease.

The construction is great,

I am pretty rough on boards and  this one

took my 240 pounds of body weight right in the

middle of the deck in a couple of wipeouts

without a single pressure ding.

Again, my congratulations for a great product and great service.

Talk to you soon,

it was loose and easy to turn and getting into waves is so easy

Dear Charissa,

Just a quick line to let you know that

the board got here OK, and

I LOVE IT.

Please pass along my congrats to Todd.

The craftmanship is incredible.

I was able to take it with me to a quick trip last weekend. Although the waves were not that big and short on power,

it was loose and easy to turn and

getting into waves is so easy.

Can´t wait to take it out in bigger surf.

Keep up the good work, I have been telling my buddies all about it.

Take care,

Thanks a lot for jump starting my surfing

Hey Todd,

I ordered a custom 6’2 G4-E from you about half a year go or so and I half to say

I am greatly impressed…

I have put the board through hell

being that I am new to surfing and this was my fist board that wasn’t borrowed..

My surfing has progressed really fast

and I have been thinking about getting another board from you for waves chest high and below… I moved to okinawa and I am surfing reef breaks.

I would like a board that can catch pretty much anything, is loose, and fast. I learn quick so don’t worry too much about my experience.

I remember when I first got my board from you and everyone says dude that board is going to be way to hard for you to learn on and how it would be to fast for me.. The first wave I went for was about waist high and choppy and I caught it..

I fell in love with that board instantly..

Although the board has been through 2-3 foot VA mush to overhead hurricane bill swell in OBX to waist-head high hollow Okinawa reef breaks, I would like to have something a little more loose and fast on the smaller waves.. I also want to try out your polyproxy construction this time as well. What do you think about a quad?

I won’t be ready to order for a couple months but I am serious about getting this board.

I also have a friend who loves how strong

my board is and how few pressure dings it has in it

and is getting a board from you when I get mine.. All I have is good things to tell people about your board and service..

Thanks a lot for jump starting my surfing

and I look forward to getting new boards from you in the future and spreading your name. Just let me know what you have in mind for me.

Take care,

and has her first high school competition for this year at Moonlight Beach on Sunday competing in Shortboard. Thank you again for everything.

We really appreciate it.

I took the Rascal II out for the first time today. I love it!

Hi Joel,

I received your custom board inquiry online, checked it out…and have detailed a couple boards that I think would be the next level for you.

Since you need something versatile for

surfing a variety of waves ranging

from mushy to hollow,

then I suggest an all around performance shortboard that generates speed in small/ gutless conditions, yet will hold in and surf fast and clean on the punchier or bigger waves too….

the board I have specifically designed for

this purpose and for your build….

is called the Big Chief.

This board is a full performance board, but it is built with the appropriate volume so that you don’t have issues catching waves, or generating speed even when the waves are small. I recommend a 6’10″ x 21 ¼” x 3 1/8″ Big Chief with a squashtail. The rocker/ bottom curve on this board is moderate meaning that it allows you to paddling into waves easily and generate speed down the line while it has a nice loose tail rocker off the fins so you can turn on a dime and draw nice performance lines in and around the power pocket of the wave.

The bottom contour features a single to inset double concave….this generates lift, speed, drive in the board while at the same time positive redirectional hold through turns.

Hopefully this answers some of your questions. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I know you would be stoked on a magic Proctor Big Chief. Looking forward to your reply,
Aloha,

Todd

Aloha Todd,

Thanks for the super fast response. I really think your recommendation is great. Iʻm wondering if I could get the dimensions you suggested (6ʻ10″x 21 1/4″ x 3 1/8″)  in the Rascal II.

The more I read about the Rascal II

the more I want to try it.

Right now Iʻm on a Rusty Desert Island thatʻs 8ʻ0 x 22″ x 2.94″ Itʻs has a shortboard shape. I want to branch out a little and try a different shape and different fin set ups. Iʻve never surfed a fish or a quad setup.

Iʻm so new at order surfboards that Iʻm not sure how custom I could get a board. Iʻm seriously considering the Rascal II, but I know that the sizes on the website would not float me.

Thanks again for such a fast response.
Joel

Hi Joel,

The Rascal II is awsome…..would be a great board for you….and I can make you a custom in those dimensions as well.

So, good news all around!!

The best thing to do for ordering a board is to set up a phone appointment and I’ll go over all the ins and outs about what will be best for you and can answer any other questions you may have at that time as well. I’ll go over everything with you from the shape/ design of the board to the various glassing/ construction options available to you, and graphics options if you are interested. I recommend going with the five fin set-up so you can ride the board as a quad or thruster….

I’ll explain the pros and cons/ types

of waves to ride each fin set-up in.

I’ll actually be here in the factory/ showroom all day tomorrow (between 10:00am and 4:00pm Pacific Standard time) so if there is a good time for you then….just let me know a time and your phone# and I’ll call you. Otherwise we can schedule something for another time. Ok, well let me know if that works good for you….
Speak soon,
Aloha, Todd

Todd,

Awesome!! Iʻm super stoked. I work until 1pm and Iʻll be home at 1:30pm Hawaii time. I believe that would mean 3:30 your time. So if you want to call at 3:30 your time Iʻll be here. If that doesnʻt work we can set up an appointment.
Thanks Todd.
Aloha
Joel

Aloha Charissa,

Iʻm writing to let you know I just got the rascal II.

The board is so rad!

I have to wait 24hrs for my traction pad to set, but Iʻll let you know how the first session goes.

Thanks
joel

Aloha Todd and Charissa,

I took the Rascal II out for the first time today.

I love it.

It floats me good. I can get into the wave faster. And once Iʻm on the wave the board keeps pushing faster.

I had so much fun.

Thanks for you great customer service and attention to detail.
